Why we should have a day off after Halloween

Halloween is known for kids roaming the streets at night, going door to door asking for candy given by generous neighbors. But I have noticed how hard it is to expect students to go to school the following day. So, I believe that the Ross School students should have the day off after halloween and here’s why:

First of all, kids usually stay up late collecting the candy to stock up, which takes a long time, and of course they eat lots of sugar in the process. If they had classes the next day, kids would not be able to focus, and might actually fall asleep during class. This would cause kids to get lower grades, which could make them not get into a good high school, and maybe not get into college!

Also, kids might be unaware how much sugar they actually consume, and if they eat A LOT at once, they could possible have a big sugar hangover, causing them to not get good sleep, get bad grades, or even worse!

And lastly, though this one isn’t health related, and more to do with fairness. School in San Francisco gets the day off, while we don’t. Not fair!

Has this convinced you that there should not be school the day after Halloween?
