Grading system in Ross VS letter grading

So as you all know, The grading system in Ross is 1, 2, 3, and 4. A 1 is considered way below standard, meaning that you blew the assignment off or need serious help understanding the standard. A 2 means that you are almost there, and you are very close to fully understanding the subject. A 3 means that you fully understand the work and you are all set. A 4 is above and beyond, meaning that you can probably teach the standard to others who don’t understand the standard.

I like this better than the ABCD grades because it doesn’t make me feel as bad if I get a 2 (probably a C or D) because I know that it just means I am not far away from the standard. As a student at Ross School, I get a lot of 3’s, but when I get a 2, I am still ok with that. I also feel that the other grading system can put on stress to the people who feel that a “C” isn’t good enough for them.

Though some would say that the number grading is actually more confusing. Especially when going into high schools. The majority of high schools (if not all ), use letter grading. The letter grading seem more clear. Either A+, A or A-, etc. I’m sure it is easier for the High Schools as well when they receive the transcripts and have to place the students in various classes.

If you disagree, you can always right a counter argument if you manage to make it into this elective. Thank you for reading this article.
