How to be a Good Teacher
Speaking to various Ross School teachers, I have figured out that there are many different ideas on how to be a good teacher. These are some statements from the teachers I interviewed:
Mr. Little (PE. Teacher) – “You have to keep students engaged by making learning fun but challenging for them.”
Mrs. Rader (Former Teacher) – “You have to make it fun for the students by going on field trips, having celebrations, and using teamwork. Also, you have to bring learning into places that the students are interested in.”
Mrs. Meyers (Elementary Science Teacher) – “You have to make class fun and engaging by playing games. It is also important to know that the teachers care.”
Mrs. Becker (6th Grade English Teacher) – “You have to like children, be flexible, treat every day with a new beginning, and assign work that is not too easy or too hard.”
