Everything You Need to Know About Stranger Things 3
Stranger Things 3 is officially in production, and the rumor mill is spinning.
If you haven’t watched the popular Netflix series, Stranger Things, here’s the basic plot: it’s about a young boy who suddenly goes missing nearby a top-secret government lab while biking home from a friends house. In this small town where everyone knows everyone, an event like this tears at the fabric of the town, turning the place upside down. Terrifying government agencies and malicious supernatural forces come together in the town. Meanwhile, a few locals realize that there is more going on than meets the eye.
To answer your main question: yes, Stranger Things’ Season Three is happening! And there is already so much to learn.
We know that it will fast forward a little bit to the summer of 1985, (aka the year Back to The Future came out!). “We’re never going to do a story line that pretends the kids are younger than they are,” Levy told Collider.
We also know that it will still be taking place mostly in Hawkins, Indiana, but we can’t forget about Kali (Eight) who will probably still be roaming around.
Moreover, it is known that Princess Bride stars Cary Elwes and Jake Busey will be joining Season 3 as guest roles along with Maya Hawke, who will be joining as a character named Robin. Also, Erica, Lucas’ little sister, will become a series regular.
Now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for: addressing the rumors.
To start, there are multiple rumors floating around about the mind flayer. The first being that it might be setting it’s sights on Eleven. Since she would be a stronger host than Will, the mind flayer could be using her powers against herself. Also, Will might not be totally okay. I mean, really, you just turn on a few heaters and light some fires, and it’s just… gone? Yeah. I don’t think so either.
As touched on earlier, we can expect Kali (Eight) to continue roaming around Hawkins. She doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. “It feels weird to me that we wouldn’t solve [Kali’s] storyline,” Matt said at Vulture Fest. “I would say chances are very high she comes back.”
Will another beloved character die? Is Stranger Things slowly becoming Netfilx’s version of Game of Thrones torture? (Spoilers ahead!) With Barb leaving us in season one and Bob leaving in season two, will season three make us say goodbye to another face? Someone else whose name starts with B? Prepare for the worst.
Finally, will Doctor Brenner resurface? I know it sounds crazy, but where did that guy even go? Definitely not the graveyard. “I would say that if we were going to kill Brenner… as an audience member watching the show, if that was his death, that would be very unsatisfying to me — when the monster jumps on him and we cut away,” Matt told IGN last year. “He would deserve much more than that as an ending. So yes, there’s a possibility of seeing him again.”
What do you think is going to happen?
